Description
This is the story of a ship—its origin, destination, service life as a means of transport, and its voyages across the seas until its sinking in the Río de la Plata. This dispatch vessel, named Nuestra Señora de los Reyes, San Antonio y San Telmo, brought to Buenos Aires the Provisional Treaty of Lisbon, signed by the kings of Spain and Portugal, which provided for the return of Colonia del Sacramento to Portuguese control. The remains of this ship are believed to have been discovered and excavated in 2008 at Dock 1 in Puerto Madero for conservation and archaeological analysis.
