The MusA Boca opens registration for the webinar <\/span>Gualeguaych\u00fa: lo que el r\u00edo lleva y trae. Arqueolog\u00eda de la modernidad en la provincia de Entre R\u00edos<\/b>,<\/span> una capacitaci\u00f3n virtual de arqueolog\u00eda posthisp\u00e1nica destinada a quienes deseen profundizar en la historia y el patrimonio cultural de esta provincia argentina.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

A partir de una mirada sobre las transformaciones materiales de la cuenca del r\u00edo Gualeguaych\u00fa desde el per\u00edodo posthisp\u00e1nico, se presenta una reconstrucci\u00f3n del proceso de ingresi\u00f3n, consolidaci\u00f3n y expansi\u00f3n de la <\/span>modernidad entrerriana<\/span><\/i>. El r\u00edo Gualeguaych\u00fa es colocado como un protagonista y un testigo de los cambios en este paraje del litoral argentino. A trav\u00e9s de la mirada fluvial, nos interrogamos sobre lo que el r\u00edo trajo y lo que se lleva, en clave arqueol\u00f3gica, sociopol\u00edtica y tambi\u00e9n po\u00e9tica.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Se presenta el proyecto cient\u00edfico de investigaci\u00f3n en arqueolog\u00eda \u201cPrimeras aproximaciones arqueol\u00f3gicas al per\u00edodo posthisp\u00e1nico y de la modernidad en la ciudad de Gualeguaych\u00fa\u201d, aprobado por el Decreto Provincial N.\u00ba 3503\/25, su marco te\u00f3rico y metodol\u00f3gico de investigaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como los ocho casos en agenda: la Isla Libertad, la Casa Museo Haedo, la Casa Museo Fray Mocho, el Monumento de los Antepasados, Unidad Penal N.\u00ba 2; Cerro Lorenzo 1, Cerro Lorenzo 2 y la Reducci\u00f3n Santo Domingo Soriano. Se postulan expectativas y horizontes de investigaci\u00f3n desde la perspectiva de los patrimonios urbanos, rurales y mar\u00edtimos, tanto en sus cualidades materiales como inmateriales.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

En este webinario se exponen los primeros resultados, los dispositivos creados y las discusiones iniciales sobre la importancia fluvial de la regi\u00f3n, la geomorfolog\u00eda de la cuenca, la estratigraf\u00eda sociohist\u00f3rica y los cambios recientes en la configuraci\u00f3n urbano-rural de la ciudad de Gualeguaych\u00fa. Desde la <\/span>poiesis<\/span><\/i>, la perspectiva arqueol\u00f3gica se transforma en inspiraci\u00f3n para enriquecer reflexiones situadas, construcciones etnogr\u00e1ficas territoriales y aproximaciones art\u00edsticas a los pasados y presentes. El r\u00edo lleva la historia a cuestas y trae la pregunta a los muelles del r\u00edo Gualeguaych\u00fa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Axel Weissel es licenciado y profesor en Ciencias Antropol\u00f3gicas y doctor en Arqueolog\u00eda por la Universidad de Buenos Aires, especialista en arqueolog\u00eda p\u00fablica, patrimonios arqueol\u00f3gicos y aproximaciones cr\u00edticas a la materialidad y a las estructuras sociales contempor\u00e1neas. Es consejero fundador de la Cooperativa Arqueoterra Ltda. y de la Federaci\u00f3n de Cooperativas Culturales Arde Ltda.; consejero de la Fundaci\u00f3n Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico de La Boca; coordinador del Dispositivo ECA-Equipo Interdisciplinario, y director del Club de Arqueolog\u00eda Gualeguaych\u00fa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The MusA Boca opens registration for the webinar <\/span>La Boca: Its Origins Through a Present-Day Lens. 156 Years of History<\/b>, a virtual training session in historical archaeology aimed at those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the neighborhood's history and cultural, maritime, and port heritage.<\/span><\/p>

Drawing on a look at the cosmopolitan origins of La Boca, its ties to the City of Buenos Aires and the country, its maritime and port identity, and the different stages of its history, the proposal aims to provide tools to broaden the understanding of its present.<\/span><\/p>

The webinar will be led by Marcelo Weissel, who holds a degree in Anthropological Sciences and a doctorate in Archaeology from the University of Buenos Aires, and specializes in the transformation processes of the Matanza-Riachuelo basin and in the development of cultural heritage projects. He is the founder of the Fundaci\u00f3n Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico de La Boca (La Boca Archaeological Museum Foundation) and a member of the International Congress of Maritime Museums.<\/span><\/p>

The MusA Boca offers the opportunity to learn and play through \"The Values \u200b\u200bof Water,\" a board game provided by Delft University of Technology (Netherlands) and the UNESCO Chair \"Water, Ports and Historic Cities,\" directed by Dr. Carola Hein.
This in-person board game requires six participants, who assume different roles in scenarios or game boards designed to imagine possible futures related to energy, transportation, trade, food, and water quality in human settlements connected to the river environment. During the game, participants work on planning actions and discussing alternatives to formulate potential solutions while keeping in mind the heritage of La Boca.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

MusA Boca invites you to participate in a tour of the Archaeology Cabinet and the Cromwell & Co. Shipyard and Marine Workshops. There, you can discuss the archives the museum receives: documents, maps, and objects that reveal the unique focus of each research project, from maritime to industrial archaeology. Visitors will also have access to fascinating facts about ship and train engines, naval mechanical practices, and the global rail-port tradition surrounding them, from the era of steam power to the present day.

Visit to the \u201cMarjan Grum\u201d Tenement Museum<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The visit includes a tour of the first MusA Boca site museum and the Marjan Grum Tenement Museum. Restored as a cultural space in the 1980s, it was declared a Site of Cultural Interest by the Buenos Aires City Legislature in 2003, highlighting its importance to the neighborhood's identity.
The site showcases the typical architecture of the original La Boca house and its exhibition spaces: the site museum, the art gallery, and the sculpture workshop. Visitors can speak with artists Marjan Grum and Beatriz Corval\u00e1n, learning about their unique perspectives on their history, their work, and their aspirations. They can also view the artifacts on display in the site museum and learn about the cultural activities and symbolic practices associated with them and the neighborhood.

MusA Boca connects with leading figures in the local cultural scene and seeks to share ways of discovering and creating. El Remanso is the name of the historic schooner sailing ship moored at Av. Don Pedro de Mendoza 2000.<\/span><\/p>

The museum offers the opportunity to tour this historic vessel located on the Riachuelo, talk to its captain about the link between the neighborhood and the water, learn about its particular history, and its expectations.<\/span><\/p>

You'll also learn interesting facts about schooners, wooden ships, and navigation as a cornerstone of the economic, social, and cultural development of the port of Buenos Aires. Weather permitting, you can sail along the mouth of the Riachuelo River, from Vuelta de Rocha, past the Barraca Pe\u00f1a Bridge, the Transporter Bridge, Cuatro Bocas, Dock Sud, Demarchi Island, and Tandanor (tour duration: approximately 1 hour).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
